About Us
Hi, We are the KOOKOOBANY Tribe!
Behind KOOKOOBANY, there is our family composed with Achim (Daddy), Safy (Mummy) and our 3 daughters.
Our adventure started while we welcome our first daughter. We would love to go for a walk in the cold weather in Autumn and Winter, and she would nicely fall asleep in her stroller.
But once we would go back home where the temperature was way too high to let her sleep with her overall, we would unfortunately wake her up undressing her.
So we started to look for an overall on the market which could be completely open without disturbing the baby but also made in similar fabrics as what we were already using (boiled wool, cotton.
As we couldn't find anything like it, we had the crazy idea to produce KOZIPIZI and to make it available for other tribes facing the same challenges with their little ones. And this is how everything started. And because we have more innovative ideas we would like to share, we decided to found KOOKOOBANY to give them a safe haven.
The name KOOKOOBANY comes from an African lullaby which the father of Safy always sung her to sleep. This is a beautiful way to link our business to another goal we keep close to our hearts: giving a part of our income to a foundation in Burkina Faso, the country of the father of Safy.
Our product
Our KOZIPIZI overall is made with boiled wool fabric and cotton lining, both complying with the stringent Oeko-Tex Standard.
This means you can trust that our products are free from harmful substances, making them safe and gentle for your little ones.
We produce in Portugal with a producer who adheres to environmental sustainability and social standards, and is Oeko Tex certified, ensuring that our commitment to safety and well-being goes hand in hand with our dedication to eco-conscious choices in baby wear.
Our mission
We want to make the life of babies and parents easier with innovative products which can help in our daily life. We also want to promote sustanability and health with the use of organic fabrics and a production with a reliable producer in Portugal.
At last but not the least, a part of our sale is used to help the Red Cross in Burkina Faso, one of the poorest country in Africa which is currently facing tremendous challenges. Armed groups and government armed forces committed violations of international humanitarian law. The armed conflict continued to affect the rights to food, water, health and education.
It is for us important to look further than our comfort and to also provide for other human beings. These are the values we want to transmit to our girls.
